Team Prologis Italia at IMPACT Day 2022

On Friday 13 May, the 10th Prologis IMPACT Day was held. Since 2013, Prologis has been devoting one day a year to volunteering, and IMPACT Day is properly back in 2022 after two years of events organised remotely due to the pandemic. IMPACT stands for, Integrity, Mentorship, Passion, Accountability, Courage and Teamwork – the values we all share during this special day dedicated to helping others.

In the last edition held before the pandemic, the Italian team visited the Wild Animal Recovery Centre (CRAS), a non-profit organisation that operates at the WWF Oasis Bosco di Vanzago wildlife rescue centre (CRAS) near Milan. This year, however, we decided to spend our day volunteering at the ONLUS Pane Quotidiano non-profit organisation, an association founded in 1898 to provide basic food items for free to anyone who needs them, every day of the year.

The Italian team arrived bright and early at the ONLUS premises in Viale Toscana. Sandro, Martina, Sabine, Marco, Margaryta, Claudia, Fabio, Filippo, Davide, Rossana, Francesca, Gabriele, Giacomo, Luca, Maria, Esin and Dea began the day by distributing food to the people who form a queue outside the building every morning. They then worked alongside some 150 volunteers to pack boxes containing food and essential non-food items for the following day, thus making an active contribution to the work of the association, which helps more than 3,500 people every day from its two locations.

"It was a day full of emotions. I was really pleased to be able to spend the day supporting Pane Quotidiano, an association that really cares about people and is committed to improving the lives of those most in need. I was welcomed by a group of wonderful volunteers, who made me feel at home straight away. Emotionally, it was a very full and demanding day, especially in the morning when we met people whose situations I found very moving", said Martina Raspantini, Office Manager and Project Coordinator at Prologis Italia. "Three days later, I'm still quite affected by the experience that we all had together as Team Prologis, and I'm really glad that we have decided to return to Pane Quotidiano before the end of the year".

Through its IMPACT Day, Prologis has donated a total of 16,500 work hours contributed by its employees to charitable causes around the world.
