Sustainability is a top priority for Prologis facilities across the globe. We design and develop our logistics centers to blend with their surroundings, minimize environmental impacts and maximize energy efficiency.
As of 2016, all new Prologis developments in Italy are BREEAM “Very Good” accredited or LEED “Silver” certified, including four build-to-suits for DB Schenker; Logista and SDA in Bologna; a cold logistics facility for Brivio & Viganò in Pozzuolo Martesana (MI), and a building developed for a major luxury sector client in Padua.
The BREEAM and LEED programs are designed to validate the sustainability of buildings throughout their lifecycles—from design and construction through operation. Buildings are assessed by key criteria that include energy and water use, interior air quality, use of recycled and recyclable materials, and reduced carbon emissions.
All future Prologis developments in Italy, whether speculative or build-to-suit, will attain BREEAM accreditation or LEED certification.
